Suffer The Gestalt are an international duo with members from the United States and Philippines that plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2021 ep "Extinction Of The Flesh" which was released by Wolfmond Production.
A very dark and distorted sound starts off the ep before going into a heavier direction while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. All of the drum beats are also programmed along with the vocals also being mostly high pitched yet depressive black metal screams.
A couple of the tracks are also long and epic in length while a small amount of melody can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing. The songs also mix in a decent amount of old school elements along with all of the music also sticking to either a slow or mid tempo direction.
Suffer The Gestalt plays a style of black metal that is very raw and depressive sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover depression, sadness, sorrow and suicide themes.
In my opinion Suffer The Gestalt are a very great sounding depressive black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Temple Of Cold Sorrow And Sadness". 8 out of 10.
