Belial's Throne Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

1.Thanks for inviting me to an interview with your zine. We are Belial's Throne and we are a black metal band from Ireland. I brought the project to life in 2016. The current line-up of the band is as follows:

King of Shadows- guitars (lead) & compositions

Ragaart- guitars(rythm), bass, art cover,

Golgotha-vocals, lyrics

Boban-drumms.

We play atmospheric melodic black metal inspired by 90's black metal.

2.You have a new album coming out in September, musically how does it differ from your previous ep?

2.Yes, our first LP will be released under the banner of Spread Evil Productions on the 1st September. The difference between an EP and a full album is huge. The EP was supposed to have a raw sound and we managed to achieve it. The LP is more atmospheric and more refined. The albums are different, but we are going in the right direction with our music imo.

3.The band has been around since 2016 but so far there had  only been one ep and full length, can you tell us a little bit more about the long wait in between releases?

3. Good things take time...

4.Some of your lyrics cover Anti Christianity themes, can you tell us a little bit more abotu your hatred for this religion?

4.Christianity was built on lies, manipulation and enslavement and it seriuosly restricts our freedom. My music is a reflection of my rebellious soul and hatred of Christianity.

5.What are some of the other lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored so far with the music?

5.On this topic, I took the opinion of the author of the lyric himself, here they are...

Golghotha: A lot of the lyrics are about me and the thoughts of coming to terms with leaving the material world... the rest is inspired by music, poetry and literature. texts are open to interpretation. Personally, they are very important to me, and how they are perceived is an individual matter for everyone. I don't want to impose anything or influence anyone's way of thinking. My lyrics = ME.

6.I know the band was name after the demon 'Belial', how would you describe your interest in demonology, occultism and dark arts?

6.Occult, demons, dark art are used by many to intimidate people, dissuade them from seeking the truth and understanding the essence of our existence. Delving into the subject of occultism, getting acquainted with demonology, it is easy to understand that the only purpose of the Christian religion is a form of manipulation aimed at bringing the greatest possible material gains and unlimited control over humanity for a certain group. Threats of hellfire to dissuade you from asking questions and looking for answers. Pathetic desperate tricks adapted to the needs of naive indoctrination... note that demons represent everything that can threaten Christianity... rebellion, wisdom, strength, pride, light, cunning, freedom, ... that is, everything that a man has. Occultism it opens the possibility for man to understand how oppressive the world we live in and also, in a way, gives you to know the possibilities of liberation and living in harmony with yourself, using the potential that lies dormant in us, being enlightened and aware of your abilities .

7.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

7.As for the graphics, the design was mine and Ragaart's and the rest is 100% Ragaart's work.

A few words from Ragaart:

The graphics I created are exactly in the mood of the title, The image shows the characters introducing the viewer or the listener, because in this case they both become recipients, to the posthumous world, where all souls are forgotten by their creator, and in which they have to start creating their own own world and take care of your own safety. There is no God or anyone else who remembers them or takes care of them. In this world - oblivion takes care of them.

8.Has the band done any live shows or open to the idea?

8.We haven't played a gigs yet. As you know Belial's Throne is an international project and it's hard to get together, but we're not ruling it out in the future.

9.The new album is going to be released on 'Spread Evil productions', how would you compare working with this label to 'Guts And Blood' and 'Rotten Records'?

9.I have no reservations about working with Spread Evil Production. everything went very smoothly. The promotion of the new album is going great, which I really missed when working with Rotten Records. The promotion wasn't great and we really had to take care of it ourselves. Spread Evil Production approached the matter fully professionally, which we are very pleased with.

10.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

10.In my opinion, our music, both the EP and the promotional tracks from the upcoming album, have been very well received, which we are very happy about.

11.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

11. We will follow the chosen path of melodic atmospheric black metal. Our goal is to create music that will be unique and recognisable as Belial's Throne style.

12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

12. My music reflects my fascination with old school scandinavian black metal bands from the 90's ( Dissection, Mork Gryning, Vinterland, old Satyricon)as well as contemporary Finnish bands, with Havukruunu, Ymir, Satanic Warmaster being my inspiration.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

13.I want to thank everyone who contributed to the creation of our album, respect to you guys. Enjoy our album. Hails!
