Abhorrency are a band from Sacramento, California that plays a bestial mixture of war, black, death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their 2022 album "Climax of Disgusting Impurities" which will be re-issued in September, 2023 by Sentient Ruin laboratories.
Apocalyptic soundscapes start off the before going into into a very direction while t he faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of tremolo picking, brutal blast beats and war metal elements which also gives the recording more of a r aw feeling and the vocals are mostly bestial growls.
At times the music brings in the brutality of grindcore while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the songs also adding in a lot of black metal influences and the whole recording sticks to a heavier direction, spoken word parts are also added on the closing track.
Abhorrency plays a musical style that takes war, bestial black/death metal and grindcore and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Blasphemy, Perversion and Iconoclasm themes.
In my opinion Abhorrency are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black, death metal and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sledgehammer Profanation" "Cathedral of Fornication" "Climax of Disgusting Impurities" and "Abhorrency". 8 out of 10.
