Czechia's solo project Mrakomor has returned with a new recording which shows the music going for an atmospheric and depressive style of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2025 ep "World Of Dying Muses".
Clean playing starts of the ep before going into a heavier direction while the music also captures a very lo-fi atmosphere. At times the ep also gets very atmospheric sounding along with the vocals being mostly high pitched yet depressive sounding black metal screams as well as some melodic guitar leads also being used briefly, a small amount of melody can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing and all of the tracks also stick to a slower direction.
On this recording Mrakomor goes for a very slow, atmospheric and depressive style of black metal. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover poetic and depressive themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Mrakomor and if you are a fan of atmospheric and depressive black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Sad Faces Empty Phrases". 8 out of 10.
