Nightwalker are a solo project from Germany that plays a very traditional, dissonant and occult form of black metal and this is a review of his 2025 ep "The Eternal Flame Of Death" which will be released in March by Amor Fati Productions.
Ritualistic soundscapes start off the ep before going into a heavier direction while all of the tracks are along and epic in length. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with the riffing also adding in a lot of dissonant touches and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the tracks also mixing in influences from both the old school and modern era's of the genre.
Nightwalker plays a style of black emtal that takes the rawness and aggression of the old school era and mixes it with a modern day dissonant approach to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover black magick, witchcraft, darkness and death themes.
In my opinion Nigthwalker is a very great sounding traditional occult black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Eternal Flame Of Death". 8/5 out of 10.
