Druma are a band from Germany that plays an atmospheric mixture of post black, sludge and doom metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Sours Of Out Time" which will be released in march by Moment of Collapse Records.
Field recordings start off the album along with some clean playing a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly growls and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is added into the faster riffing they also give the music more of a raw black metal feeling. Elements of sludge and doom metal are also added into the slower sections of the songs along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody and all of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also having its atmospheric moments as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic post metal style when they are utilized, clear vocals are also added on the closing track. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover social struggle and global inequity.
In my opinion Druma are a very great sounding atmospheric mixture of black, sludge and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Fall Of Men" and Disconnected". 8 out of 10.
