Sepulkhral Baptism are a band from Mexico that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their self titled 2025 ep which was released as a joint effort between Death in Pieces and Muchik Records.
Apocalyptic soundscapes and synths start off the ep before going into a heavier direction while the vocals also add in a lot of bestial death metal growls. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of war metal elements and blast beats can also be heard.
When tremolo picking is added into the fast riffing they also give the songs more of a raw black metal feeling. High pitched screams can also be heard at times along with the ep also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the music also having its brutal moments.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very chaotic style along with some shouts also being utilized briefly which also adds in a touch of the first wave era and spoken word samples are also added on the closing track. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover death worship themes.
In my opinion Sepilkhral Baptism are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I" and "IV". 8 out of 10.
