Angel Massacre/Worshipped In Vain/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Angel  Massacre  are  a  band  from  North  Carolina  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  misanthropic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2024  album  "Worshipped  In  Vain".

  Synths  start  off  the  album  while  spoken  word  samples  can  also  be  heard  briefly  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  and  blast b eats  are  added  into  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  fast  riffing  they  also  give  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  A  lot  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  influenced  by  the  mid  90's  era  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  spoken  words  also  return  on  later  songs  and  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  growls  are  introduced  on  later  tracks.

  Angel  Massacre  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw,  misanthropic  and  traditional  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Anti  Religion,  Spiritual  Decay  and  Nihilistic  Wrath.

  In  my  opinion  Angel  Massacre  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  misanthropic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "On  The  Black  Wings  Of  Satan"  "All  Churches  Shall  Burn"  "Beneath  Cloven  Hoof"  and  "We  Have  Come  For  The  Throne".  8  out  of  10.
