Echoes Of The Moon are a solo project from Indiana that plays a very experimental form of post black metal with a touch of doom and psychedelia and this is a review of his 2016 album "Entropy" which will be released in March by Avantgarde Music.
Ambient style synths start off the album and a few seconds later melodic guitar leads make their presence known on the recording and they also give the music more of a post metal sound and when the music speeds up it brings in more of a raw style of black metal along with some blast beats being utilized while also being atmospheric at the same time.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams and the slower sections of the music bring in a lot of doom metal elements and the riffs also utilize a great amount of melody.
Psychedelic sounds can be heard in the music at times and as the album progresses the music gets more experimental and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and all of the songs also sound very diverse and different from each other and some of the songs also get very progressive at times and one song also brings in a brief use of clean singing.
Echoes Of The Moon plays a style of post black metal that is very atmospheric while also mixing in doom metal, psychedelia, ambient, and experimental music to create a style of his own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover philosophical themes.
In my opinion Echoes Of the Moon are a very great sounding experimental, post black metal project with a touch of doom metal and psychedelia and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Entropy" "The Tower Of Babel" and "All Is Good". 8 out of 10.
