Golgata are a band from Sweden that plays a very raw and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 ep "Industrial Thoughts".
Nature sounds start off the ep along with some tribal beats a few seconds alter that leads to more of a fast and raw black metal direction that uses a great amount of high pitched screams and blast beats and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music is very heavily rooted in the second wave style.
When melodic guitar riffs and leads are utilized they bring in an early 90's atmospheric doom/death metal feeling and deep growls can also be heard at times which also adds an influence of death metal onto the recording and the vocals also bring in a very great atmosphere at times and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the songs and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording an d there is also a brief use of melodic vocals.
Golgata plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school while also being very melodic at the same time, the production has a very heavy yet raw sound while the lyrics cover darkness and nature themes.
In my opinion Golgata are a very great sounding raw and melodic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Flood" and "Forest Of Grief". 8 out of 10.
