Dreaded Void are a band from Australia that plays a murky, apocalyptic and unrelenting evil form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "The Abyssal Plane Of Suffering" which was released by Dark Adversary Productions.
A very dark, evil yet melodic sound starts off the ep along with some blast beats and high pitched black metal screams a few seconds later and the tremolo picking also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the music also brings in a great amount of 90's second wave influences along with most of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
A great amount of single note riffing can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while power chords are also used on a regular basis and the songs bring in mostly fast riffs while also adding in mid tempo and slow sections briefly and there is also a brief use of melodic guitar leads and all 3 of the tracks stick to a very dark, raw and heavy musical direction and on the last track the vocals get very deep and demonic.
Dreaded Void plays a style of black metal that is very raw and mostly fast in the 90's second wave tradition, the production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover Darkness and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Dreaded Void are a very great sounding fast and raw black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Murk". 8 out of 10.
