Sauron are a band from Poland that plays a pagan form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Wara!" which was released by Witching Hour Productions.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album along with some folk instruments in the background and after awhile clean singing pagan chants are added on the recording while most of the vocals are grim black metal screams and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and most of the music sticks to either a slow or mid paced musical direction while also bringing in a small amount of fast riffing and blast beats at times and the tremolo picking also gives the music more of a raw black metal feeling and they close the album with a cover of Bathory's "Enter The Eternal Flame".
Sauron plays a style of pagan/black metal that is mostly done in a mid tempo style while also adding in a touch of folk at times, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover Paganism themes.
In my opinion Sauron are a very great sounding pagan/black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Czarcie Bagna" and "Goreja Wici". 8 out of 10.
