Nattkaos are a solo project from Sweden that plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2016 ep "En Man av Folket".
A very dark and melodic guitar lead starts off the ep along with all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and the synths also gives the music more of a dark and haunting style.
Vocals are mostly grim and depressive sounding suicidal black metal screams and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and you can also hear traces of dark ambient and experimental in the music and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the songs also sound different from each other and clean guitars are added on the last track.
Nattkaos plays a style of black metal that is very depressive and also very heavily influenced by dark ambient and experimental music, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Swedish and cover suicidal themes.
In my opinion Nattkaos are a very great sounding depressive black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kvinnan I Dimman" and "Den Sista Maltiden". 8 out of 10.
