This is a review of a split album between Italy's Nomura and Nulla+ called "Improne/Lacrime" which was released as a joint effort between The Triad Rec, Italian Extreme Underground, Nothing Left Records and Boned Factory and we will start off the review with Nomura a band that plays a mixture of black metal and hardcore.
Their side of the split starts out with powerful sounding bass guitars along with some drum beats a few seconds later while the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams along with the heavier riffs bringing in elements of hardcore as well as a small amount of melody and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the songs a more raw feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a small amount of melody, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover negativity themes.
In my opinion Nomura are a very decent sounding mixture of black metal and hardcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Salice (pt.1)".
Next up is Nulla+ a band that has been featured before in this zine and plays a lo-fi mixture of raw black metal, hardcore punk and stenchcore.
Their side of the split starts out with some distorted amp noises before adding in fast and raw riffs that use a great amount of tremolo picking along with the drums also adding in a great amount of blast beats as well a s the vocals being mostly high pitched black metal screams and clean playing can also be heard at times.
The music also mixes in elements of stenchcore and hardcore punk and throughout their side of the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to t hem, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover agnosticism and dystopian themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Nulla+ and if you are a fan of black metal, stenchcore and hardcore punk, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Piangersi Addosso".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of black metal and hardcore. 8 out of 10.
