Seattle, Washington's Isenordal have returned with a new recording which shows the music going into an acoustic mixture of black metal and neo folk and this is a review of their 2018 album "Spectral Embrace" which was released by Eternal Warfare Records.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album and also brings in elements of neo-folk along with some clean male and female vocals a few seconds later while percussion's can also be heard at times as well as some stringed instruments and most of the tracks a re very long and epic in length.
Classical music influences can also be heard at times while black metal screams can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the music capturing the atmosphere of funeral doom metal without ever using any traditional metal instruments as well as all of the songs sticking to a slow direction.
On this recording Isenordal continues the neo-folk approach that was presented on their ep while still utilizing black metal screams at times, the production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover melancholic themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Isenordal and if you are a fan of black metal and neo-folk, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Inevitable Product Of The Foretold" and "To Turn Thy Thoughts From The Tree of Life". 8 out of 10.
