Arthedain are a band from the Czech Republic that has been featured before in this zine and plays a contemporary form of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Infernal Cadence of The Desolate" which will be released on June 17th by Naturmacht Productions.
A very heavy and melodic post metal sound starts off the album while the vocals are mostly angry black metal screams along with the faster sections of the songs using a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which gives the music more of a raw feeling and the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while a couple of the tracks a re very long and epic in length along with the music also mixing in elements of traditional black and melodic death metal as well as a few growls and one of the tracks also introduces acoustic guitars onto the recording and as the album progresses the music starts getting more atmospheric and diverse.
On this recording Arthedain takes traditional black, post and melodic death metal and mixes them together to create something very different the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death, isolation, chaos, nature and occultism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Arthedain and if you are a fan of contemporary black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Testament To Failure" "Consuming The Aurora" "Arcane Ascension" and "As One". 8 out of 10.
