Cinzas are a solo project from Portugal that plays a very raw, cold and dark form of black metal and this is a review of his 2015 demo which will be re-issued on cassette on July 31st by Purodium Rekords.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the demo along with some grim and angry black metal screams a few seconds later while the faster sections of the songs also use a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling and the music also has a lot of 2000's era influences.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the riffs also bring in a great amount of dark sounding melodies along with the music also getting very minimalist at times as well as a couple of the tracks being very long and epic in length and at times the vocals also bring in more of a spoken approach and on the closing track elements of ambient and clean playing are brought onto the recording.
Cinzas plays a style of black metal that is very raw, cold and dark and very heavily influenced by the 90's and 2000's era of the genre, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Cinzas are a very great sounding dark, raw and cold black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I" and "IV". 8 out of 10.
