Sacrilegious Rite are a band from Germany that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 ep "De Poetica Tenebris" which was released in 2019 by Dominance Of Darkness Records.
A synth orientated intro starts off the ep before going into a very fast, raw and brutal war metal direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals also bring in a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls along with the riffs also adding in some dark sounding melodies.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The songs also add in a lot of old school elements but also keeps it modern at the same time as well as the guitar leads being done in more of a dark and melodic style when they are utilized and the closing track is very long and e pic in length, synths also make a brief return and the closing song also adds in a brief use of acoustic guitars.
On this recording Sacrilegious Rite goes for more of an old school black/death metal style while still having touches of war metal.The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Religion and Death themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sacrilegious Rite and if you are a fan of war, black and death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Arise From thy Sleep". 8 out of 10.
