Ploughshore are a band from Australia that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of black and death metal with some elements of harsh noise and industrial and this is a review of their 2022 album "Ingested Burial Ground" which will be released on November 21st by Brilliant Emperor Records.
Power electronics and industrial elements start off the album along with some high pitched black metal s creams a few minutes later. Death metal growls are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while the music also has its experimental moments and harsh noises can also b e heard at times.
Programmed beats can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while the music also does not follow any traditional guidelines. Guitars are mostly absent from this release with the album focuses more on an industrial noise style along with some powerful bass sounds also being utilized at times as well as a couple of songs also introducing blast beats unto the recording and the second side of the album of all re-mixed versions of the first 5 tracks.
On this recording Ploughshore takes black, death metal, experimental, industrial and harsh noise and mixes them together to create an album different from their previous release. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dream sequences.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Ploughshore and if you are a fan of black, death metal, experimental, industrial and harsh noise, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Horrible And Terrifying Impression" and "An Uneasy Dead Rose". 8 out of 10.
