Lunaar are a solo project from the United Kingdom that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2022 ep "Among The Dead Stars" which was released by Death Prayer Records.
A very distorted sound stats off the ep before going into a heavier direction which also mixes in some atmospheric elements. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can b e heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the slower sections of the songs also add in a touch of doom metal. All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and most of the music also sticks to a heavier direction.
Lunaar plays a style of black metal that is very aggressive and atmospheric sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, night and scientific themes.
In my opinion Lunaar are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Eons Past". 8 out of 10.
