Germany's Eisregen have returned with a new recording which continues their dark mixture of black and gothic metal from their previous releases and this is a review of their 2022 single "Wiedergänger" which will be released in December by Massacre Records.
Synths and bass guitars start off the single before going into a heavier and melodic musical direction. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black emtal screams while the music also adds in a great amount of gothic metal elements along with some female vocals also being utilized at times and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
At times the music also gets very atmospheric sounding while the recording sticks to mostly a slow or mid tempo direction as well as adding in some symphonic touches and when the recording finally speeds up a small amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can be heard which also gives the song more of a raw feeling.
On this recording Eisregen continues the dark mixture of black and gothic metal that they have established on previous releases. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in German and cover vampirism and serial killers.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eisregen and if you are a fan of b lack and gothic metal, you should check out this single. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Wiedergänger". 8 out of 10.
