Bras D'Honneur are a duo from Ukraine that plays a militant mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Hate Speech" which will be released in march by Primitive Reaction.
A very raw and brutal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly bestial growls while the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era while the music also adds in a great amount of black and death metal elements and dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing.
Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while some of the tracks are also very short in length. All of the songs also avoid the use of any solos and leads and focuses more on two riffs pure song and the whole recording sticks to a heavier direction.
Bras D'Honneur plays a musical style that goes back to t he early 90's era of black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, hate and blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Bras D'Honneur are a very great sounding militant mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Trench Knife" "Eaten Alive By The Pigs' "Disembowled" and "Judas Cradle". 8 out of 10.
