Dalla Nebbia are a duo from South Carolina that plays a very atmospheric and progressive form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 ep "Thy Pale Form".
Drum programming ranges from slow, mid paced to fast beats, while the synths bring a very dark, atmospheric and progressive sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast atmospheric black metal riffs that also utilize elements of progressive and post rock in the riffing as well as a great amount of melody to create a sound of their own, while the lead guitars are very melodic and atmospheric sounding post black metal guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars they use finger picking and full chords to enhance the progressive elements of the ep.
Vocals range from grim sounding black metal screams to deep death metal growls as well as a brief use of clean singing, while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording with the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Dalla Nebbia are a very great sounding atmospheric, progressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Apex Of Human Sorrow". RECOMMENDED BUY.
