Nzzilh are a band from Illinois that plays a very old school, raw and primitive from of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 album "Sthts".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding in the old school tradition along with a brief use of clean playing being utilized on one song and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are all grim sounding black metal screams that utilize a depressive tone to them at times as well as a brief use of clean singing along with a brief use of deep demonic growls, while the lyrics are in a foreign language and seem to cover dark and misanthropic themes, as for the production it has a very old school, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Nzzilh are a very great sounding old school, raw and primitive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Arngatyr kueLLvea" "Fuerer Iglisia Amvorungsti" "Gosh Jregg" and "Merdir Tye MERDIR". RECOMMENDED BUY.
