Existenz Dizaster are a solo project from Russia that plays an ambient form of post black metal and this is a review of his 2017 album "Dekadenz" which was released by Vacula Productions.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album along with some elements of post rock and after awhile the music gets heavier while the guitar solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion along with some touches of shoegaze being used at times as well some of the tracks being all instrumentals.
When tremolo picking and blast beats are utilized they give the songs more of a raw feeling along with the songs bringing in a mixture of slow and mid paced parts and there is also a cover of Les Discreets's "Apres L' Ombre" as well as some melodic vocals and spoken words being used briefly and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and as the album progresses elements of progressive, darkwave and ambient can be heard.
Existenz Dizaster plays a musical style that takes black metal, post rock, ambient, shoegaze and experimental to create a sound of his own and the production sounds very dark while lyrics when they are utilized dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Existenz Dizaster are a very great sounding ambient post black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dekadenz" "Her Dark Elegance" "Apocalypcity" and "Sweet Decadence". 8 out of 10.
