Destined To Suffer is a solo project from Australia that plays a very atmospheric form of post black metal and this is a review of his self released 2019 album "Rotting World".
Nature sounds start of the album along with some clean playing a few seconds later while whispered voices can also be heard in the background briefly. A couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length as well as the heavier riffs also adding in a great amount of melody.
Vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with the music also mixing the atmospheric and heavy parts together as well as the clean playing also adding elements of post rock onto the recording when it is utilized, one track also introduces keyboards onto the album and all of the music also sticks to either a slow or mid tempo style.
Destined To Suffer plays a style of post black metal that is very atmospheric and mid tempo sounding along with some depressive elements. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, death and depression themes.
In my opinion Destined To Suffer is a very great sounding atmospheric post black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Rotting World" and "From The Cradle To The Grave". 8 out of 10.
