Amherawdr are a band from the United Kingdom that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Adorned With The Figures Of Snakes" which will be released on June 20th by Onism Productions.
Acoustic guitars and water sounds start off the album while the only song on this recording is almost 40 minutes in length.All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them along with some clean vocals also being utilized briefly and the heavy riffs also add in a decent amount of melody.
At times the music also gets very atmospheric and progressive sounding while high pitched black metal screams are also a very huge part of the recording. As the album progresses the song also starts getting more diverse sounding along with the faster sections of the recording also adding in a small amount of tremolo picking and blast bests which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and when guitar solos and leads are finally utilized they are done in a very melodic style. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the bleak romance and mysticism of ancient Britain.
In my opinion Amherawdr are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. 8 out of 10.
