Ziegenhorn are a band from Estonia that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Blut&Kaos" which was released by Warhorn Records.
A very apocalyptic sounding intro starts off the album before adding in some drum beats which also takes the music into a heavier direction. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly angry sounding growls that also add in some touches of black metal.
When the music speeds up a great amount of war metal elements, brutal blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into some of the guitar riffing, when guitar solos and leads are finally utilized they are also done in a very chaotic yet melodic style and one of the tracks also adds in a brief use of clean playing.
Ziegenhorn plays a style of war and bestial black/death metal that is more melodic than most bands of this genre. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Goat Worship themes.
In my opinion Ziegenhorn are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a f an of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Goat Mit Uns" "Goatural Blasphemy" and "Blood&Chaos". 8 out of 10.
