This is a review of another recording from Michigan's solo artist Wraithlord which shows him moving away from the raw and atmospheric style of the previous releases and going into more of a dungeon synth direction and the album was self released in 2021 and called "The Land Of The Seven Towers".
Keyboards start off the album and also adds in a variety of many different sounding keys while also adding in elements of dungeon synth and dark ambient. All of the music is also instrumental along with the album also capturing the atmosphere of a fantasy movie soundtrack as well as each track also sounding very different from each other. One track also adds in a small amount of industrial style beats, field recordings and nature sounds can also be heard briefly and spoken word parts are added on the closing song.
On this recording Wraithlord introduced a dungeon synth style which is a lot different than his black metal style and shows he can also perform other types of music as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Wraithlord and if you are a fan of dungeon synth, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tower I (Arrival)" "Tower V (Shining)" and "Tower VII (Shadow)". 8 out of 10.
