Black Hate are a band from Mexico that plays a very aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2024 album "Via Pvrgativa: Qui spiritu Diaboli aguntur hi filii Satanae sunt" which will be released on February 12th as a joint effort between Underground Kvlt and Odium Records.
A very dark synth orientated intro starts off the album while Gregorian chants and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly before going into a heavier direction. Vocals add in a lot high pitched black metal screams along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats.
The deeper vocals also bring in elements of death metal while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. All of the musical instruments on the album also have a very powerful sound to them, throat singing can also be heard on a few tracks and the fast riffing also mixes in a lot of fast and raw tremolo picking.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style. At times the vocals also get very grim sounding as well as all of the tracks also being very long and epic in length, clear singing can also be heard on a couple of songs. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Mysticism and Death themes.
In my opinion Black hate are a very great sounding aggressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "To The Firmament" "Luminous Ruins Of Death" and "Dark Night of The Soul". 8 out of 10.
