Mrakomor/Suspirium/Lamentation Of An Endless Story/2024 Split Album Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  self  released  album  between  Czechia's  Mrakomor  and  El  Salvador's  Suspirium  called  "Lamentation  Of  An  Endless  Story "  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Suspirium  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  very  depressive  form  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  nature  sounds  and  acoustic  guitars  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction.  Vocals  are  mostly  depressive  black  metal  screams  while  one  of  the  tracks  is  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  both  of  the  tracks  also  sticking  to  a  slower  direction,  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Spanish  and  cover  sadness,  melancholy  and  depression  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Suspirium  are  a  very  great  sounding  depressive  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Las  Historias  Sin  Final".

  Next  up  is  Mrakormor  a  solo  project  who  returns  with  his  atmospheric  and  depressive  style  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  distorted  yet  heavy  sound  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.  At  times  the  music  also  captures  a  lo-fi  atmosphere  along  with  the  music  also  having  its  atmospheric  momenta.  Vocals  are  mostly  depressive  black  metal  screams  as  well  as  most of  the  track  also  adding  in  a  small  of  clean  playing  and  acoustic  guitars,  both  of  the  songs  also  stick  to  a  slower  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  and  the  lyrics  cover  sadness,  melancholy  and  depression  themes. 

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Mrakomor  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  and  depressive  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Last  Cigarette".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  depressive  black  metal.  8 out  of  10.
