Italy's solo project Iscuron has returned with a new recording which shows the music going for a cosmic, atmospheric, symphonic and medieval form of black metal with electronic elements and this is a review of his self released 2025 ep "Spread Your Wings And Fall".
Synths and programmed electronic beats start off the ep which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs at times and gives the music more of an atmospheric and symphonic feeling. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style and the folk influences also add in a medieval touch.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of blast beats. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the recording also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
On this recording Iscuron adds electronic elements into his atmospheric, cosmic, medieval and symphonic style of black metal to create something very different. The production sounds very dark and raw w hile the lyrics cover the myth of Icarus.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Iscuron and if you are a f an of atmospheric, cosmic, medieval and symphonic black metal with electronic elements, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Spread Your Wings And Fall" and "Lose-Lose Playground". 8 out of 10.
