Våild are a duo from Denmark that plays a very slow and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Stemmer" which was released by Vendetta Records.
A very slow, dark and heavy sound starts off the album while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with most of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and the music also has its atmospheric moments.
Clean playing is also added into certain sections of the album while the music is also very heavily rooted in the modern era of the genre. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with all of the tracks sticking to a slower direction and the recording avoids the use of any blast beats, fast playing or mid tempo sections and melodic guitar solos and leads are also added on the closing track.
Våild plays a style of black metal that is very slow, modern and atmospheric sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Danish and cover the poetry of Viggo Stuckenberg.
In my opinion Våild are a very great sounding slow and atmospheric black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Saadan blev Livet givet" and "Hundredfold". 8 out of 10.
