Svartkraft are a band from Finland that plays a very atmospheric, melodic and depressive from of satanic black metal and this is a review of their 2003 album "den onda pesten" which was released by Perishinlight.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with only a small amount of blast beats, while the synths bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very dark, raw, primitive and depressive sounding with a great amount of melody being thrown into the riffing as well as a brief use of clean and soft playing, while the lead guitars are very melodic and depressive sounding guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched depressive black metal screams along with a brief use of deep growls, while the lyrics are written in Finnish and cover Depressing, Satanic and Black Metal themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Svartkraft are a very great sounding atmospheric, melodic and depressive satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Elementens Fall" "Liv I Ruiner" and "Frysande Svart Blod". RECOMMENDED BUY.
