Maniac Butcher are a band from the Czech Republic that plays a very thrashy, raw and primitive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2000 album "Epitaph" which was released as a joint effort between Death To Mankind Records and Pussy God Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding along with a good amount of thrash influences being thrown into the riffing, while the lead guitars when they are used only on the last sound have an early 80's black metal sound to the leads
Vocals are all grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics are written in Czech and cover Satanism and Battles, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Maniac Butcher are a very great sounding raw and primitive black metal band with a thrash edge and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bitva Razhodujici V Krvi Ouspense Vybojovana Jest, A Tim I Toto Tazeni Vojnove Zakonceni Zdarneho Dosahuje" and "Zkusenost I Nauceni Zaverecne Vyhodnek Dojiti Uplatneni Prede Vsemi U Kraluch, Vladaruch, Vojvoduch I Druhych Panovikuch Vselikerych". RECOMMENDED BUY.
