Devil Ancestry are a band that plays a very occult form of bestial black/death metal and this is a review of their 2012 demo "At The Seat Of Evil Ecstasy" which was released by Abysmal Sounds Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing h as a very strong and powerful tone with heavy and primitive riffing that dominates throughout the recording, as for the synths they are only used on the last song to enhance the darkness that is coming out of the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine combine primitive bestial black metal with the darkest elements of evil death metal and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals range from deep guttural black/death growls to some high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics cover dark, anti christian and evil themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Devil Ancestry are a very great and original sounding hybrid of bestial black and death metal that is not as heavy or brutal as other bands of this genre but still very dark sounding and if you are a fan of this genre of music, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "At The Seat Of Evil Ecstasy" and "Curious Potion". RECOMMENDED BUY.
