Faerghail are a band from Finland that plays a very dark and atmospheric form of black metal with a melodic edge and this is a review of their 2000 album "Blood Will Follow Blood" which was released by Northern Sound Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the synths bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark sound with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that utilize a great amount of melodic Swedish death metal influences, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads that have a classic metal feeling to them at times.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams with a brief use of clean singing being used on one song that gives the music a darkwave feeling, while the lyrics cover dark themes, as for the production it has a very dark, strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Faerghail are a very great sounding dark and atmospheric black metal band with a melodic edge and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Rain" and "Daughter Of The Storm". RECOMMENDED BUY.
