Sayer are a band from New Hampshire that plays a very atmospheric form of instrumental black metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 demo.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast playing with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing of the guitars, as for the synths when they are utilized they bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast atmospheric black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sound with a good amount of post rock influences being thrown into the music and there are no guitar solos or leads present on the recording.
Vocals are all absent from this recording with the music being all instrumental, while the songs cover dark themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Sayer are a very great sounding hybrid of instrumental black metal and post rock and if you are a fan of this musical style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Screaming For Enlightenment". RECOMMENDED BUY.
