UR are a band from Poland that plays a very raw form of black metal with some elements of doom and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "Hail Death" which was released by Arachnophobia Records.
Water sounds start off the ep along with some heavy riffs a few seconds later that also use a decent amount of tremolo picking and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the riffs also use a decent amount of melody and clean singing vocals are also used at times and have an avant garde touch.
Black metal screams are also a very huge part of the recording and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they remain true to an old school style of extreme metal and clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and they also give the music more of a raw feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and elements of thrash and doom metal are also used at times.
UR plays a style of black metal that is very raw mixing the old school and modern styles together while also mixing in elements of thrash and doom to create a sound of their own, t he production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion UR are a very great sounding raw black metal band with elements of thrash and doom and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Let the Darkness Come" and "Infinity". 8 out of 10.
