Arkhaeon are a band from Switzerland that plays an atmospheric and ritualistic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Beyond" which was relased by BergStolz.
Atmospheric synths and heavy guitars start off the album along with some grim vocals before speeding up and adding in tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music a raw feeling as well as some black metal screams and the riffs also use a great amount of melody and clean playing can also be heard at times.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and the spoken word parts gives the music a ritualistic feeling and the song which is also over 30 minutes in length also brings in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and keyboards along with melodic singing can also be heard at times.and classical guitars are also used in some parts of the track and the music can also be very avant garde and experimental at times and whispers are also used briefly.
Arkhaeon plays a style of black metal that has its raw moments while also being very ritualistic and experimental at the same time, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover Occult and Transcendence themes.
In my opinion Arkhaeon are very great sounding atmospheric and ritualistic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. 8 out of 10.
