This is a review of a split album between Netherlands's Gorge Of War and Austria's Cruciatus Infernalis called "Goatorgy" which was rleeased by Kult Und Kaos Productions and we will start of the review with Gorge of War a solo project that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal.
His side of the split starts out with some dark sounding synths before going into a very fast and raw war metal direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while bestial growls can also be heard at times.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. All of the musical instruments on his side of the recording also have a very powerful sound to them and one track also adds in a brief use of chants. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover blasphemy and anti Christianity themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Gorge Of War and if you are a fan of war and bestial black/death metal, you should check out his side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Octomutonium" and "Ad Utero".
Next up is Cruciatus Infernalis who returns with his mixture of black, death metal and dungeon synth.
His side of the split starts out with synchs before going into a heavier musical direction while the vocals ar e mostly high pitched black metal screams. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Touches of dungeon synth can also be heard at times along with the riffs also adding in a small amount of dark sounding melodies. Throughout his side of the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as some elements of death metal also being utilized at times and the music also has its symphonic moments, spoken word samples can also be heard briefly. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover hell, torture and death themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Crucatus Infernalis and if you are a fan of black, death metal and dungeon synth, you should check out his side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Exzess" and "Orgie".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of war, black, death emtal and dungeon synth. 8 out of 10.
