1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the solo project?
1.- I Miss You, C... is an atmospheric post black metal omb, with 1 demo and 2 albums. Recently the first album has been reissued as a CD by Tragedy Productions, the second one was made by Spirit of the Air Records, all of these 3 releases share the same themes, as the centre of the band.
2.Recently you have released a new album, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
2.- Actually this is an album that i released on november of 2022, but it got remastered and reissued in february.
Improves a lot of the quality in general, and i put a lot of work into the album (for example programming one by one the drum grooves).
3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?
3.- Lyrics touch topics such as love, loss, obsession and madness; but in his way tries not to be so specific, and sometimes being so specific.
4.Originally the project was called 'New Hate', what was the cause of the name change and also the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'I Miss You C......."?
4.- New Hate was the solo project i created back in 2021, originally the name came from the band Morge: New Hate (as a band), and decided to cut the name and create New Hate separately as my solo project. Initially it was a depressive black metal project, with the album ISOLATION (2021), but then i turned into others styles completely far away from metal.
I wanted to start from the beginning as an atmospheric black metal band, and that's the reason why I miss you, c... was created.
5.Since 2021 under both names you have released a great amount of material, do you spend a great amount of time writing and creating music?
5.- I usually create songs while playing my guitar, i try to create something, then i practice it until it stays in my mind, then when i am fully sure how it will be and how to play it, i record it. I write the lyrics at other times, usually i use lyrics that are wandering around without any use, or sometimes i use writings that weren't meant to be song lyrics, but i turn them into ones. I think i spend more time practicing or recording the song than writing it.
6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?
6.- The cover artwork is a piece from Louis Aston Knight, and it was suggested by Tragedy Productions. When i first saw it i thought it was beautiful, and automatically thought that it would be the one and only for the album.
7.With this project you record everything by yourself, are you open to working with other musicians or do you prefer to work solo?
7.- In terms of creating and writing the songs i think for this project it's better that i write the songs on my own, but to work with other musicians, to play live and / or to record their instruments it's a thing that i plan to do one day. In fact, i love to play music with other people.
8.So far you have worked with 'Tragedy Productions' and 'Spirits Of The Air Records', are you happy with the support both labels have given you so far?
8.- First, Spirit of the Air Records (a sub-label focused on atmospheric sounds of Depressive Illusions Records) was the first to release the music of I miss you, C..., they released my second album on CD and digitally. I think it is a good label if you're starting out with your band and want to release your work physically.
Second, Tragedy Productions. They showed absolute interest for the band and the album (at that time i only had released the first album), the work he has done with the band has been invaluable, not just releasing a absolutely beautifully magnificent Eco-Digipak CD, but also promoting the band and the album. Definitely without Tragedy Productions I miss you, c... would never be what it is today, and what may be sometime.
9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of atmospheric and depressive black metal?
9.- Since the demo showed the light in november of 2022, people seemed to like it, then one day after the demo, i released the pre-order of the album Catalina (I, II, III, IV). To the people it could arrive, it had good reactions, and i was happy with it. The demo was a more raw production, and people liked it because of it, and the album was the best thing i've done until that moment, but it didn't had the reception i was working and waiting for.
Since Tragedy released the single i have gained more audience, and the reception was good, but i cannot say anything until the album comes out on april.
10.Where do you see yourself heading into as a musician during the future?
10.- Probably i will have improved the equipment, exploring new sounds, and (i wish i will be) doing shows.
11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
11.- The band that has influenced this project the most is definitively Bosse-de-Nage. Some lyrics of the second albums are inspired by Bryan Manning's writing style. Currently i am re-listening the albums of Mamaleek, and i have been enjoying more the first self-titled, and the 2020 album "Come out and See". Also i am listening to Fell Voices, Ash Borer, Palace of Worms, an album called "The World Has Left Us Behind" of a japanese band called "Dreadeye", Succumb, Agriculture....
12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
