Dyoxidon are a solo project from Colorado that plays a mixture of black, death, industrial and idm and this is a review of his self released 2023 album "The Decaying Multiverse".
Dark soundscapes start off the album while also bringing in the atmosphere of science fiction and horror music soundtrack as well as mixing into the heavier sections of the songs. Elements of industrial and idm are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording and a great portion of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls along with some synths also being mixed in with the heavier sections of the album at times.
Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with all of the drum beats also being programmed. A lot of the tracks also mix in the more harsh side of industrial as well as the music also adding in a great amount of brutality, melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover science fiction, horror, astral entities, metaphysics, spirituality and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Dyoxidon are a very great sounding mixture of black, death metal, industrial and idm and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Psychomatic Harvest" "Parasite Communion" and "The Crystalien Void". 8/5 out of 10.
