WinterheartH are a band from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording plays a melodic mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2023 album "Rape Of Eden" which will b e released on March 21st.
Clean playing starts off the album along with a brief use of spoken word samples before going into a heavier direction. Elements of thrash metal can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
The riffs also add in a great amount of melody while the vocals are mostly black metal screams along with a few death metal growls. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with the songs also adding in a good mixture of both modern and old school influences as well a s one song also introducing synths onto the recording. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover plants and how they will destroy the human body and soul.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from WinterheartH and if you are a fan of melodic black and thrash metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Scarlet Love(& A Black Heart)" and "Wormwood". 8 out of 10.
