Genocidal Rites are a band from Ohio that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a very bestial form of war metal and this is a review of their 2022 ep "Exsanguination Of The Gods" which will be released on March 10th by Hells Headbangers Records.
Dark soundscapes start off the ep along with a brief use of spoken word parts before going into a heavier musical direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of war metal elements, brutal blast b eats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them..
Vocals a re a mixture of bestial growls and black metal screams while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and also adds in some influences of the Ross Bay Cult and the mid 90's to early 2000's era of war metal and most of the recording also sticks to a heavier direction.
On this recording Genocidal Rites remain true to the bestial style of war metal that they had establish on their previous release. The production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics cover Anti Abrahamic themes, barbarism, death worship and occultism.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Genocidal Rites and if you a re a fan of war and bestial black/death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Abrahamic Annihilation In Complete Totality". 8 out of 10.
