Rheinkaos are a duo from Greece that plays a very avant garde and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2024 ep "All My Being is A Dark Verse".
Dark soundscapes and avant garde elements start off the ep along with some atmospheric sounding keyboards which also mix in with the heavier sections of the songs at times. Clean playing is also added in certain sections of the recording and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while both of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Whispers are also utilized briefly along with the vocals being mostly angry yet grim sounding black metal screams as well as the faster sections of the songs also adding in a decent amount of blast beats.
Acoustic guitars can also be heard briefly along with one song also adding in a small amount of clear vocals as well as the music also having its progressive moments and both tracks are re-mastered versions of songs that where released more then a decade ago, spoken words are also added towards the end. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover scientific and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Rheinkaos are a very great sounding avant garde and atmospheric black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Commencement Fear". 8 out of 10.
