Maledictvs Peste are a band from Chile that plays a bestial mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2025 demo which was released by Psalmodist Records.
Epic sounding synths start off the demo along with some grim black metal screams a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of war metal elements of brutal blast beats can also be heard and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
When tremolo picking is added into the fast riffing they also give the recording more of a raw feeling while the music also adds in a lot of old school touches. A lot of the music also captures the brutality of death metal and most of the tracks also stick to a faster musical direction, bestial growls are also used briefly.
Maledictvs Peste plays a musical style that takes black, war and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw w hile the lyrics cover death, destruction and hatred themes.
In my opinion Maledictvs Peste are a very great sounding bestial mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Fetid And Impure Death". 8 out of 10.
