Nihil Admiral/The Axes, The Flesh Hooks And The Spits/Rekviem/2026 Full length Review

  Nihil  Admiral  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  plays  a  very  dark  and  intense  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "The  Axes,  The  Flesh  Hooks  And  The  Spits"  which  will b e  released  in   August  by  Rekviem.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  vocals  are mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  as  well  as  the  music  also  being  very heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  of  the  genre.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  shouts  are  also  utilized  at  times.  Most  of  the  tracks  stick  to  either  a  2  or  3  minute  limit  as  well  some  guitar  solos  and  leads  also  being  used  briefly  and  one  song  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  synths  before  returning  back  to  a  heavier  direction.

  Nihil  Admiral  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  fast  and  raw  in  the  mid  90's  tradition  of  the  genre.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  lens  of  nihilism.

  In  my  opinion  Nihil  Admiral  are  a  very  great  sounding  dark  and  intense  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  o  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Eye  Of  Logic"  "The  Pride  Of  Life  Confute"  and  "Its  Own  Beyond".  8  out  of  10.
