Noktvrnvs/Sonor Obitvs Mysterivm/Sect Entropy/2024 Full Length Review

  Noktvrnvs  are  a  solo  project  from  Germany  that  plats  a  very  raw  and  experimental  mixture  of  black  and  doom  metal  with  elements  of  noise  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2024  album  "Sonor  Obitvs  Mysterivm."  which  was  released  by  Sect  Entropy.

  Drum  beats  and  ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  album  before  going  into a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  are  done  in  more  of  an  angry  black  metal  style.  Elements  of  doom  metal  are  also  added  into  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  along  with  the  recording  also  having  its  experimental  moments.

  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  a  couple  of  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  noises  and  when  the  music  finally  speeds  up  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Noktvrnvs  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  raw  black  and  doom  metal  and  mixes  it  with  noise,  experimental  and  ambient  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  darkness  and  death  themes.   

  In  my  opinion  Noktvrnvs  is  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  raw  black,  doom  metal,  ambient,  noise  and  experimental  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Mare  Corporvm"  and  "Iter  Vermivm".  8  out  of  10.
