This is a review of another recording from Germany's Noktvrnvs which shows the music going for a raw mixture of black, doom metal, experimental, ambient and noise and this is a review of his 2024 album "Favces Ferocis Fremitvs" which was released by Sect Entropy.
Experimental and avant garde style soundscapes start off the album before going into a heavier direction while the slower sections of the music also adds in elements of doom metal. Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length while the vocals also add in a great amount of high pitched black metal screams.
When guitar leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. Noises are also added into certain sections of the album along with some ambient style drones also being utilized at times and most of the recording sticks to a slower direction, one track is also an instrumental.
On this recording Noktvrns focuses more on a slower blackened doom metal style as well as keeping the experimental, ambient and noise elements of the previous release. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in German and cover Occultism and Darkness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Noktvrnvs and if you are a fan of black, doom metal, noise, experimental and ambient, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cavvm Arcanvm" and "Exsvrgere". 8 out of 10.
